Improving our approach to Mental Health

We now have in-house Mental Health First Aiders & new informative posters around the office.

If you have been following us for a while, you will know how much we care about Mental Health. Quoting MHFA England “We all have mental health. Better mental health is good for everyone and recognising this is good for society.

Starting this year, we have introduced a few initiatives in our offices, to ensure we are correctly transmitting its importance to our team and also, getting prepared so they can come and talk to us about any personal and/or professional circumstances.

Our approach

To start with, our HR team has been trained as Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA). What does this mean? Well, they have learned about Mental Health issues, different techniques to detect them and more importantly, how to approach them to make things better in a totally confidential and non-judgemental manner.

Another important action is breaking down barriers and openly talking about it. We frequently communicate with our staff through internal and external channels, to remind them that we are genuinely flexible, available and can offer support We make sure that everyone is imbued with this mindset and ready to address anyone in a difficult situation.

We have recently taken a step further by creating a visual and powerful poster, providing ideas about easy steps to take to get through a bad day and who to talk to when feeling overwhelmed.

We always have our arms (and minds!) open to more and better improvements that we could introduce for everyone’s sake, so let us know:
